What does the session entail ?
A Smoking Cessation session takes about an hour and a half to two hours. Time is spent getting to know you, and about your smoking habit. You will also be able to to discuss with me any concerns you may have about Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy.

It does this by calming your mind and helping you to feel relaxed in the situations where you used to smoke. It also boosts your willpower to ensure that you can stop in the most appropriate way for you.
Through trance, the mind and body can relax deeply,but at the same time you do achieve a high degree of focus. During the trance state, beneficial suggestions may be received directly and effectively by your mind. The triggers and patterns related to smoking and having an uncontrollable urge to smoke, will be replaced with a new pattern of not wanting to smoke and not thinking about smoking.

Smokers often confuse the need for nicotine with the need to eat and smoke when they should be eating and eat when they require nicotine. If the smoker stops with willpower alone then the feeling of nicotine withdrawal is confused with the need to eat. Hypnotherapy removes this conection.
Smokers often say that they smoke to relieve stress of anxiety, therefore if they didn't smoke this anxiety would be unbearable. This also is not true. Smokers and non-smokers suffer the same amount of anxiety in a given stressful situation. However this rise in anxiety creates a problem for a smoker as it accelerates the depletion of nicotine, so on top of the normal stress that everyone feels is added the need for nicotine. A smoker lights up, restores the nicotine levels and the added anxiety goes away leaving them with the same amount of anxiety everyone feels. A SMOKER SMOKES IN ORDER TO FEEL THE WAY A NON-SMOKER FEELS!
Sadly it is the case that if we believe something will happen, then it will happen. That's not fair is It ?
However, if you raise your concerns in the session, these issues can also be addressed so that your mind completely understands that there are no withdrawal symptoms at all, upon stopping smoking. The only lasting effects are beneficial ones.
